Product Overview
The Mini Responder ETD is the lightest, most compact trauma bandage in the NAR ETD family. At just 2.0 oz in a flat package measuring L 4.25 in. × W 2.75 in. × D 0.875 in., it fits in configurations where even the standard ETD (2.6 oz) would add meaningful bulk: ankle medical holsters, single-item soft-side EDC pouches, jacket pockets, and minimal-profile IFAK configurations designed for plainclothes operations. Despite its smaller footprint, it maintains a 4 in. × 6 in. sterile non-adherent wound pad — sufficient coverage for the majority of extremity wounds.
The securing mechanism uses a hook-and-loop (Velcro-style) closure rather than a locking pressure device, which makes it the simplest bandage in the ETD family to apply and secure. Application requires no technique beyond wrapping and pressing the closure — accessible to users with minimal medical training, including lay responders in Stop the Bleed scenarios. Quick-Grip Roll Control tabs prevent the bandage from unrolling if dropped, maintaining the ETD's characteristic field reliability.
The Mini Responder is also an excellent backup bandage for kits that carry a standard ETD as a primary, and a cost-effective way to include a legitimate trauma bandage in entry-level kits, patrol bags, vehicle kits, and public-access bleeding control stations. Its reduced weight and cube are achieved through a shorter bandage wrap (60 in. vs. 56 in. standard ETD) and a smaller pad, which are appropriate trade-offs for its intended use case on extremity wounds.
