Product Overview

Open-water rescues demand systems that deploy faster than drowning progresses. A standard Sked® stretcher — already one of the fastest-deploying rescue platforms — still requires rigging before water entry. The Sked® Rapid Deployment System eliminates this constraint by pre-rigging the entire system inside a custom duffel bag with CO2-triggered inflatable float logs that deploy automatically on cartridge activation. From a secured vessel, the entire deployment sequence — unzip, trigger CO2, pull two straps, drop in water — takes less than 30 seconds. A conscious or semi-conscious patient can be packaged in another 30 seconds.

The system is designed specifically for Marine, Navy, and Coast Guard use cases where man-overboard and water rescue incidents require immediate response from a moving or anchored vessel. The CO2 inflatable float logs provide sufficient buoyancy to keep the packaged patient and system afloat, while the SK-652 Sling and Carabiner Float prevents any component from sinking during deployment. The Coyote Brown coloring is designed for maritime special operations environments where conventional orange would be tactically inappropriate.

For agencies that already own a Sked® Basic Rescue System (SK-200 or SK-200-OR), a Rapid Deployment Conversion Kit is available, including all components needed for rapid water deployment except the stretcher body itself. This allows existing Sked® inventory to be upgraded to water rescue capability without replacing the complete system.

  • SK-200-GR Sked® Basic Rescue System (Green stretcher with full standard accessories)
  • SK-605/SK-606 CO2 Inflatable Float Logs (pair)
